When you are On Air you can send congregation-facing messages to your congregation using crawl text, pager information, and countdown clocks.
Note: This article describes on-screen messages your congregation can see. You can also configure Proclaim to send messages or directions to a confidence or notes monitor only for those on stage.
Skip ahead to:
Adjust On-Screen Message Settings
You can change the size and location of on-screen messages from the display settings. Expand the Settings menu and choose Display.
Make your adjustments and close out of Settings. Your changes will save automatically. You can test the size and location by switching to Preview Mode and trying any of the methods mentioned below.
Note: These settings will also adjust the size and location of the Proclaim Signals icon.
Show Crawl Text
You can type a custom message as Crawl Text and it will continuously scroll across your currently-shown slide until you clear the message. Type your message into the Crawl Text input box and press Enter on your keyboard.
You can clear the message in three ways:
- Click the X to remove the entire message.
- Manually erase the message or part of the message and press Enter on your keyboard.
- Place your cursor in the Crawl Text input box and press the Escape Key on your keyboard to remove the entire message.
Note: You can also show speaker-only facing messages or stage directions on a Confidence or Notes output. Learn more.
Show Pager Information
You can alert parents with pagers with the Pager input box. The message shows an icon and up to six characters. Type the pager number(s) into the Pager input box and press Enter on your keyboard. If you need to alert multiple pagers, separate each by a comma and Proclaim will cycle them every five seconds on the slide output. The pager number(s) will continue to show until you clear it.
You can clear the pager number(s) in three ways:
- Click the X to remove all pager numbers.
- Manually erase the numbers or some of the numbers and press Enter on your keyboard.
- Place your cursor in the Pager input box and press the Escape Key on your keyboard to remove all pager numbers.
Show Countdown Clocks
You configure a countdown clock to display on most any service item (all service items but songs and surveys support on-screen countdown clocks) while building your presentation or while On Air. With Edit mode toggled, ensure the Content tab is active. Check the Show countdown clock option.
Note: You can also show a speaker-only facing countdown on a Confidence or Notes output. Learn more.
A countdown can be set to a specific time or length (e.g., 10 am or 5 min). When the countdown has finished you can either hide the clock or advance to the next service item.
When the service item is live, a countdown timer will display on the screen.
Note: If your service item is in the Warm-Up section of your presentation, you can still show a countdown timer, but you cannot set the length of the timer as shown above. You can adjust the timer length by checking the Auto-advance option and changing the number of seconds the countdown should display.
